Dominic
Tafuri began training Brazilian Jui Jitsu in 2002 under Sensei Edson
Carvalho. In 2004 he received his blue belt. In 2006 Dominic decided to
try out Mixed Martial Arts and had his first professional fight in
Atlantic City New Jersey. Dominic won his first bout in just thirty
eight seconds by guillotine choke; it was after that fight on that
night that Dominic received his purple belt from Sensei Edson Carvalho.
Dominic took a little over a year off and then got back into fighting
winning two more bouts also by submission. In 2008 Dominic received his
brown belt. Dominic has now focused on teaching and helping fighters
with upcoming fights.
